“Stone the Crows” is a British and Australian expression of amazement or surprise and has little to do with actual crows themselves (while we do have an abundance of crows on our estate, they spend most of their days keeping a watchful eye perched on fence posts, or soaring lazily on nearby lake breezes). Our crows do little to harm the vineyard fruit and live without any fear of stoning.
“Stone the Crows” felt like an apt expression of our first reaction to the quality of the grapes produced by our vineyard and the stunning manifestation of that quality in the wine itself.
